Jennings, known for numerous R&B hits like ?Must Be Nice,?S.E.X.,? and ?Never Never Land,? among others, returns with a new studio album titled, ‘Tree of Lyfe’ which was released on Tuesday, June 23. Even though it was only a ten song album, I can honestly say I really liked about eight or nine of the songs. Songs that I think are worth checking out (other than the 3 linked to above): College, 17 To A Million, and Winner. Overall, I like it about just as much as I Still Believe, which means I like it quite a bit. Confirmed tracks: Boomerang, ABC's, and I Wish.ĭecember 2nd, 2013 edit: This album was released just about two months ago, which means I think it's set in enough for me to review it. However, he was released in March of 2012 and made several tweets indicating that he was making a new album. It was universally thought that I Still Believe was going to be his last album. In late 2010, Lyfe was arrested once again, and sentenced to three and a half years in prison. In this song, he talks about looking on the positive side of things instead of the negative side. It Coulda Been Worse is my personal favorite song from the album. It includes the popular song Statistics, which basically states that 90% of men are bad and that women need to find the 10% to treat them right. This is Lyfe's most recent album to date. I Still Believe Released August 31st, 2010. Other songs worth listening to from the album: Keep On Dreaming, You Think You Got It Bad, Wild Wild Wild, and Midnight Train. This album is my third favorite album of his, but it's pretty close to being second. My personal favorite song from the album is Will I Ever, which a song in which Lyfe is questioning if he'll ever fall in love again. It starts out with a great quote, where Lyfe says "You know my momma said there's only two things in life that are constant: That's change and change". The song, Never Never Land, is an up-beat song about growing up and falling in love. Lyfe's second most famous hit came from this album. Despite that fact, there are still several songs worth checking out: Let's Stay Together, S.E.X, More Than a Girl. Personally, out of his four albums, this is my least favorite. As a follow up to his debut album, Lyfe Jennings released his second album a little over 2 years after his first one. The Phoenix Released on August 15th, 2006. Overall, this is my favorite album he has put out to date. Other songs worth listening to from this album: Cry, 26 Years 17 Days, Stick Up Kid, Greedy.
My other favorite song on the album, I Can't, has a great tune to it. The chorus from this song is great: " Even when your hustling days are goneĪnd all those gold-digging women disappear It includes his most famous hit to date Must Be Nice, a song in which he explains what qualities he looks for in a girl. This is my personal favorite album of his. He was released from prison in late 2002. Here is one of the videos sent in that helped jump start his career.
